Hunting Trip

Post by agingcrossbower »

Well, I have been waiting all year for this. I am leaving in the morning for a 5 hour drive to the western edge of wi. buffalo co. hunt. And that will be against the wind. Going to cost some extra gas for sure. Will not be a good start for the hunt with this crazy wind, but I usually never shoot anything till the second last day of the hunt anyway so its not bothering me to much. Hope the guide can put up with my old bag of bones. Maybe I can stick one big enough that Crazyfarmer will even notice. Thats BIG! Will let everyone know how it turns out. Aging :)

Good Luck and shoot a big 'un for us!
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

Had to call off the going for the hunt because of record setting winds blowing 50 to 60miles per hour. Thats hunting. :( Will leave early tomorrow morning and hopefully hunt that evening. I usually don't get a shot till the last day or two of a hunt anyway. The guide said he would make it up to me so maybe things will get straightened out. At 500.00per day I sure hope so. Thank you very much for all the well wishes. It means a lot to me. Aging :)

Probably a good idea. I doubt the deer will move a lot with the wind howling like that. One thing for sure, not many hunters will be out there taking deer. So, the deer will likely still be there waiting on you when you get there.

This postponing the trip for one day isn't bad. I get to get excited about it all over again.
