Do you deer hunters think we are in rut? I have had three people at work see deer this week all bucks and all in the daylight!! and none hunt :?

Yes.

With the number of reports of does being chased, they're definitely at it right now.

From what I saw the other night, I would say most definitely. Bucks are chasing with one thing on their mind. Plan on spending long hours in the stand.

Absolutely. I have been seeing bucks following does for the past two weeks.
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!

ui dont know i just got back from above bancroft deer hunting and thy are just starting to scrape the bucks have very thick necks i got a close lok as a buddy shot a very big ten pointer .yesterday mornig .not a lot of sign and atill to worm .thy want to but just bnot quit there yet .thy are looking .but i am real looking forword to the next two weeks DUTCH

Getting close here but don't think so yet. Weather seems real screwy. Hell, we still have lots of leaves on the tree's still.

The advent of the Internet and a multitude of forums has made it very easy to determine when the rut is on. Due to a number of reports out of Soutern Ontario of bucks chasing does, bucks coming running to rattling and even cases of does being mounted, it's safe to say that if you hunt in Ontario, you should be sitting from dawn till dusk.

my brother watched a spike buck mount a doe the other day and some light chasing last night ...but the bucks were still interested in feeding equally...i'd say any day now here it will hit in northern ont

Best time, the bucks are ready, but the does (or at least a lot of them) aren't willing. Every buck is going to check every doe he sees, and that means a lot of activity!
