Some fall pics. pic heavy

Post by chris4570 »

Here are some pic from the first bit of the hunting season.

Some wild grapes.
Image

My nemisis. Burrs. They seem to be everywhere this year. My legs have been rubbed raw. My clothes covered. One pair of pants may never be worn again.

A red-backed salamander. He found refuge under my backpack one morning.
Image

A poplar, changing colours.
Image

Free wind indicators.
Image

How wet is it where I hunt? Wet enough for this muskrat to swim under my stand.
Image

Image

From one of my ground positions.
Image

Image

A mushroom capitalizing on the rotting stump.
Image

The view from my stand where I shot the doe.Image

The required gear to get into the marathon stand. A full change of clothes is stuffed into my pack and crossbow case.
Image

Me toting gear on the way out from the marathon stand.
Image

The gauntlet. To get to one of our stand locations Ecoaster and I had to run past these hives.
Image

Image

The day before I witnessed a fellow shooting at a rabbit as it ran in the ditch along the road. The "hunter" was standing no more than two feet from the ashphalt. I called the MNR. The COs came to investgate. It was interesting to watch the dog work. He was able to find spent shells, and the wads.
Image

Being rewarded with his kong, after finding the first wad.
Image

Something of an abstract picture. There was spring causing ripples on the surface of a puddle. The fall colours along with the blue sky made for an interesting subject.

Between you and Groundpounder, my appreciation of fine things is growing leaps and bounds...be it sculptures or nature photography. You certainly have a good eye and creativity!! Thanks for sharing with us!
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4
