Heron in pic #3, but I didn't see antlers on it.

Those pictures look a lot better than what I saw this evening, though.

I tried my best to put antlers on it! It was a big'un.

I figured out my problem from this morning's hunt. We had a cold snap and I made a crock pot of chili beans. I was under the impression that three bowls of chili beans the night before the hunt was the same as using scent coverup the morning of the hunt. Apparently, I was wrong . . .at least my wife and kids believe the chili beans give the deer an unfair advantage.

Anybody know how many days it takes to get chili beans out of the system?

It has been dry, but, we have had some good rain lately. The creek is low most of the time. The banks are high in most places. Here is a picture of the creek I took a couple of years ago. You can see . . .high banks and low water. Makes for some good ambushing, if the deer are moving.

There are no deer in this picture either. :P

Deer or not, looks like a nice place to hunt! Looking forward to seeing that stock laying over a monster!
