I did some Googling. I live in the same province, I'm sure I would have heard of it.

On another site dated Feb 2010, it mentioned it. Believe me in Feb Turtle lake would be frozen.

But that is one big "Northern.

DW caught a small walleye and was landing it and a bigger one smacked it off the hook and she flipped it into the boat. She was squealing with delight IIRC the big one was about 6 lbs. Tasted great. Limestone lake, on the Hanson Lake Road SK.

Looks like the fish would have let go . . .must have been hungry.

My brother-n-law and I were fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He was pulling in a small sea trout and a very large sea trout nailed it a few feet from the boat. We also tried to net them both, but, the monster let go before we got the net around it.

The thing surprised us so bad, the initial shock froze us too long. We didn't have the net handy either since we didn't need it to haul in the small trout.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
