I actually live in Sopchoppy, 40 miles south of Tallahassee between the Apalachicola National Forest and the St. Marks National wildlife Refuge.....in Gods country. We have a terrible bear problem down here. There hasn't been a season for bears in 30 years so they dont have much of a fear of man anymore. They are distructive sob's that take great delite in tearing up deer feeders, cameras, blinds, trash cans, barbeque grills, chicken pens, cars, campers, four wheelers, killing and eating dogs on chains, cattle and livestock, and any number of personal items left outdoors. You can imagine how many of them we have as they reproduce faster than deer as each sow can have as many as 3 cubs per year, with no predators. There is not a hunter in Florida that enjoys having them visiting their setup, and many are now killed by ruthless hunters by shooting them in the gut with 22 rifles, and letting them run off into the bush to die , a sad way of trying to control them. Getting off that subject, my feeder was put up on thursday and I collected 580 pictures on sunday afternoon, It was like the critters were hiding in the woods waiting for dinner to be served.j.krug wrote:Very crowded indeed!
