Congrats on the hunt, the doe and the group of friends in the pictures. That's where the memories are made.

Congrats on the deer. I like your pictures and story. Happy Birthday, you and my wife share the same day, December 31, all though some years apart.

Thanks all .... From what I've read since season start , looks like the Excalibur Forum crew had a great season overall !

During drives , you gotta have the deer " real " close for a broadside moving shot .
Moving shots are no recomended , but practice makes perfect and if you are confident with a close shot , it can be done .... Running no , but a slow trot or bounce is doable .... basically following thru the scope passing the deer and aiming where you want to hit as it steps into the frame ....
Grab an old tire .... jam foam into the middle ( or wedge your block target into the middle ) , have your buddy " bounce roll " it past you ( inside 20 yards ) = ( practice makes perfect )
I always try to bahhhh them to stop but it doesn't always work .... Best way is to set up beside known escape routes and hope for the best when they filter out .
Of course , it helps to have hunting partners that are part bloodhound !

Yep > I like the layers / and snow camo for end of season .... Often carry my insulated coveralls in and suit up at the stand site to prevent overheating .Those are some nice cold weather hunting duds you've got on. That's the way I dress for late season too.

I actually arrowed that doe quartering to me .... Not a recommended shot but I was confident I could stip an arrow into the right spot .Was the deer moving when you shot? Did you use the side reticle in the scope when you did it? I have tried to shoot game on the move a couple of times but it just feels wrong not having the crosshairs on them. Both times i ended up putting the crosshairs on them but what i thought was forward. Missed both
So im interested!
