Scars to remember

Post by strum »

Back in sept i almost shot my toe off uncocking in the dark/ in a hurry/ and most importantly WITH A BOLT STILL IN PLACE
I was using the rope cocker so i was able to pull it back just in time ..Got nice 3 blade hole in my boot and a small nick on my toe,,
Just noticed this morning if I look real close i can see the scar and it looks like a BMW emblem..Tried to get a pic but its just too faint..
Im calling it "My Little Badge" not to brag about mind you ,its to keep me humble and remind me to follow all safty rules ..
Im intersted in yalls "LIttle Badges" Dont be shy..we need a laugh and some good advice..

Have switched to 22" arrows so if I lapse when uncocking I won't be able to get my foot under it.
Oh ya and the 22" fly real nice too and seem to be more consistent.
Or maybe I was just shooting better. :D

My body is starting to look like a road map for a third world country with all the lines that start and stop everywhere. I told my dad that he should have gotten me a better warranty.

I’ve got a nice straight scar on my right hand where the slide on my little Beretta reminded me about how to properly hold a semi auto pistol. Only took once to drive that lesson home

well i've been waiting to tell this story.most times i hunt solo but took a friend one day.my habit is to remove arrow from my bow climb down out of my stand and decock my bow.this day the plan was to have me swing around threw the bush when i climbed down and push to my buddy so put the arrow back in the bow and walked to him.we chatted awhile about the hunt and i forgot to remove my arrow.talking to him at the same time i stuck my foot in the stirrup garbed the string with both hands well still talking and looking at him reached down with my thumb and popped the trigger with thumb nail.only happy ending to this story is here in this pic.

love my steel toe boots.although shooting my thumb nail off the next year while above the rail is another story
PUT IT IN THE BAG MARLIN ( #$%^ you it"ll bite)

I have a small scar over my left eye thanks to a 300 win mag !!
I shoot right handed but had a big doe hung up behind me on my right side...since I was in my climber I swung around as far as I could and shot left handed, not the best position !
Lesson learned was you hold on tight to a 300 no matter what the angle !!!
And yes ... i missed the deer by a mile !!!!

This is for all of us with a few "scars"

Scars
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4
