Question about a cheekpiece

Just bought a excal cheekpiece for my phoenix, IT is drilled for the cheekpiece , but the holes dont line up. any sugestions ? thanks

I,m not sure the right way

I lined up the holes before I snapped it on
then tap it lightly to line up exactly.


someone will know the correct way

How far out is it? I tapped mine with a rubber mallet to get it to line up!

I guess I will have to check it out some more. didnt realise it had to snaped or taped into place , thanks

Yes, it takes a bit of persuasion for the cheekpiece to snap into place over the top of the stock.
Once it's "snapped" on you will probably need to tap it forward or backward to get the holes to line up.

I had understood that the cheek plate only fit the thumb hole models.

That's incorrect, they fit both the thumbhole and newer standard stocks, the ones with the slanted slashes on the sides, which were manufactured in 2004 or later .

Also the cheekpiece will go on slightly easier if it is warmed up . When the cheekpiece is snapped on just give it a gentle persuasion with even a piece of wood .

Thanks everyone, I warmed it up snaped it into place tapped it with a small mallet, just like I knew what I was doing. could not of done it with out everyones help. Thanks again,.John
