I agree. I like hunting. But I don't visit the forum to hunt for posts about hunting.

You can bet that if Peter has been able to visit the forum lately that he would have deleted it by now. It usually means that he has been too busy with the "goings on" at excalibur to do so. When he gets a chance it will be given the boot.

In the meantime if you notice spam adds then either click on the exclamation mark in the post to report it, or add the spammers name to the sticky at the top of main forum page. It will help him notice the spammers and delete them.

Sorry, but this has been going on way too long. I know the boys at Excalibur are busy, but this site needs MODERATORS who can help out with cleaning up this stuff.

Full fledged moderators who can delete these guys faster than they can post!

If Peter is too busy, have him get someone else to do it.

Won't mention a name but I belong to several forums and seen people with Moderator status become overbearing A$$H*&^S.
I think this may be what is holding Bill and Peter back from granting this power.
Don't get me wrong I would love to see a couple of people given Mod status with strict rules only to deal with spam.

Like most from ArcheryTalk. Think they just like to harrass for no reason at all. Power trippers and try to talk to them and you get the boot.

yeah, i hate spam as much as everyone else. But in the grand scheme of things its a minor nuisance, considering it doesnt affect the porformance of the forum. Report it and move on. A overbearing moderator is a worse problem to have!!!

Lets give "the dude" a bit of a break here, He's not sitting on his hands. He's changed the layout of the forum to try to stop some of it. Im sure he has a few more tricks up his sleeve when he gets the chance

I am not blaming Peter in any way shape or form, but this is really getting ridiculous. I came on this morning and almost the full front page was Spam.

It won't be minor when 90% of your forum is spam and junk totally unrelated to crossbows. Don't let it get out of hand.

I think they might know that there is a problem. If you have a working solution then point it out to them in a pm. Im sure they would love to hear it. Im not sure what yet another thread about how much we hate spam is going to accomplish.

We are not really enjoying the spam thing either, the "delete spam" button has been pushed. We are working on getting rid of spam on our forum but we are a great target for these "low-life" gremlins who distribute spam.

Guess mods visit here as well, within an hour of posting the above they contacted me. Make me shake my head. Remind me of a renagade police force.
