Because I've never done this, when you unstring your bow do you just take off the disappators on the outside of the limbs or the ones closer to the centre too?

just the pads on the outside with the 2 allen key bolts in them. everything else stays in place

Yes just take the two screws per pad out and then remove the pad before unstringing . This will save the pads which are a soft rubber from skwishing out .

I got warned once by Danny those diss pads have alum backs w/ steel screws going in them, easy to strip, pita even w/ free replacemnts. Left Emax strung 3 yrs w/ no loss in speed, fwiw.

They no longer are aluminum ,they are steel now .
