Mule deer shedding antlers

Post by Lakelover »

Hi all
Well we are having the winter from hell. Lots of snow, freezing rain, cold temps. What else is new for south Sask.

The deer are all over the roads eating all the shrubs in peoples yards. We have 10- 20 mules coming to clean out the bird feeder every evening. So Dw has been feeding them. They will come with in inches of the patio door even when they see me standing inches away from the door.

I'm not sure when the deer shed there antlers up here?? but the other day there was a small buck that showed up. He had the weirdest rack I have seen.

The deer had two small thin beams and two tines off the top of the main beams. same on both sides. Looked like a couple Charlie Brown Xmas trees.

I have not seen him back or the antlers were shed.

My Old digital cam died and it is hard to take photos thru glass.

So anyone ever see a rack with 4 main beams? I hope to see this guy next fall. Little bigger and hope he keeps that rack.

They used to call me cheap, now I'm eco friendly!
