I believe the scope rings are metric, can't recall if they're 2.0 or 2.5 mm. Do you know?

And neither does my Dealer. When I first tried to adjust the scope, the bolts were about stripped. This place is way back in the hills in West NC , not sure if they have metric. All I know is that now, neither metric nor sae. work..

I have a machinist friend that is going to remove and retapped with a size bigger bolt. And I will, replace with good ole American threads. I carrry one multi- size allen wrench set.

i've never had a need to fiddle w/ the metric ring screws in the field, but if it bothered me much, I'd dremel a screw driver slot in the heads and fugget about it, lol.

WTB these are like gold to me for removing screws that have been stripped out . I know you are down south but I know they have these down there as well .

One tip I always use is to make sure your allen keys are sharp

As the keys get older , the edges get rounded over, then slip in the screw head
causing it to strip the head.

I grind the end of the key on the bench grinder till the rounded edges
are sharp and flat again. Now it sits tightly in the screw head.

Doesn't always work, but will greatly increase your odds

Thats true frank. Even after my excal allen key rounded the screw head by slipping, the same size allen key from my mechanics toolbox then removed it ! It was a better fit, and stronger material. Better to get a quality key from the start if possible.
