Top mount quiver with new S5

I've come up with a couple options for mounting a top mount quiver bracket with the new S5 string stoppers.
I have a Munch mount but I'm sure it will work with the Groundpounders also.

The first option is cheap and fast. I simply replaced the 2 screws that come up through the riser with a couple of 5/16 x 2" button head cap screws.
This leaves plenty of screw exsposed to screw the quiver mount posts down on to.
This set up was very rigid and would work fineThe quiver mount bracket sits about 1/4" higher doing this but is not really an issue.

I work at a mold shop as a cnc machinist so I have access to material and machines so I decided to make myself a set of new aluminum posts that would match the radius of the top of the S5's.
I spray painted them flat black to match my Munch mount.
In order to make this setup work I needed to drill out the threads in the string stoppers to pass the 5/16" screws thru into the new posts.
The new post where made shorter to make Munch mount sit at origional height.

Yes Wheelie, the string sits right at the centre of the pads.
The stoppers are mounted exactly as designed by Excalibur, I just added the posts to the top.

jim i picked up a s5 at the archers nook yesterday i was trying to find a saddle washer to place between the post and the s5 only problem is so far i can only find them in a box of 5000 .just a few more than i will need this year.i will keep looking.i was afraid with just putting a radius on the post that the threads would not line up well enough or cross thread .do you think there is an issue with that.new guy had an idea as well .

I don't think cross threading would be an issue but the chance of the threads in the two pieces matching up is highly unlikely. If the end of the thread in the S5 doesn't match the start of the thread in the post exactly there will be a gap between the two pieces and the post will not fit tightly against the top of the S5. That's why I had to drill the threads out of the S5 stoppers to create a clearance hole. The new aluminum post now clamps the stopper down to the riser.

What time where you at the Archers Nook? I was there from around 2:30 to 3:30 looking around the place.

just missed you jim i was there at 440 .i had to see someone in the city at 1 and got talking.remember looking at my watch and it was a toss up weather to go to the nook or metal supermarket .got string and the s5 but will have to wait till friday to get some metal. i do have an order going into hunter steel tomorrow for material for another dozen string jigs.so next weekend i will be busy.i see you work in a machine shop do you ever come across a cheap used 220 volt Bridgeport milling machine .i would like to buy one
also i thought about drilling the holes out on the s5. the way you did and would on my own bow but would not do or recommend anyone else doing it.any idea who may sell delron saddle washers by the hundred

Too bad I missed you Terry, it would have been nice to finally meet in person.
I don't know of anyone selling the derlin saddle washers but we have some pretty good catologues at work.
I'll look throught them and get in touch if I come up with anything.
Once in awhile I hear of milling machines coming up for sale. I'll keep my ears open for you.

Finally got around to shooting my bow with this new setup on it and I'm pretty happy with the results.
Only had time for a few shots but everything held together well and string slap noise was noticeably reduced.

Late post but someone ask for a photo of S5 with Wyvern quiver mount, I have it with the spacer to raise it up where I wanted it.
The spacer is not needed for the S5. I still need to do the finishing touches bur works great..
