My old style Moultrie D50 has a white flash that conked out after last fall's hunt. So what to do..make, model, price is all slowly taken into consideration. Spring comes along and BP has one on sale. Just before I head out there, check the internet's other stores to see their sales. Patience pays off, I see my old style D50 on sale now for $70. Gonna go get one, but if I wait, it may go on sale even cheaper.....
Good idea about replacing the flash, diesel. I'll take the unit apart, see if the flash tube looks the same and see if I can order one locally. To be creative, let's see if my spare camera 'slave flash unit' tube will fit ! If all fails, the old Moultrie will be a day time camera only . Thanks....
Never had a flash go on my d-50 but i did put lace over flash to keep the buck from avoiding that camera. plus it also kept out those Giant eye reflections.
Hey, I just got a black flash and you are right, it is pretty awesome. I have the Moultrie Game Spy m-100, and though it is not a Reconyx, I do believe it is the best trail camera for hunting in its price range, considering I can buy two and some SD cards for the price of one Reconyx.
I've had them all and Spypoint take the lead in my eyes. Incert a SD card , Turn it on, Press OK, close the door ,and walk away ! way less hastle and you have pic's when you come back...
