This boy couldn't resist the love song.....

Post by Bowster »

Had a hard time waking up at 4:15 this morning and found myself walking into my setup at 7:30. Saw two Toms walking the distant field edge so belly crawled another 40 yards to my tree. Waited 10 minutes and did some soft yelps. The two went out of site so waited 20 more minutes and did another soft series of yelps. GOBBLE 10 yards behind me. Raised the Mossberg and he walked across in front of me at 30 yards.

Couldn't let R.J. down.

Congrats. The tom I took on Saturday walked from behind me, to my right at eight yards and I couldn't take him until he hit the field, due to too many objects I would have hit with the gun trying to swing on him. It really gets the heart beating to have them that close.

I could hear something moving behind me but my heart got a jump start anyways. Had to change the boxers when I got home.

Thanks all. I think I'm gonna trade the shotgun in for the rifle and see what I can do to thin the yotes out. Fawns are being born like crazy this week and would like to give them a better chance of survival.
