Its that Time!

Post by vixenmaster »

I have been shooting Miss Vixen with the Red/GN T Dot since March, just practicing. Diff strings diff serving material diff arrows diff weight. Today i sat down on my bed pulled the Red Dot off & set it in a box. Put on my varizone went out & shot 20 times today at 20 & 30 yds. I have my 3-D deer set out at 25 yds & another target out at 40 yds. So i will shoot now with scope, but not not my junk hunting arrows. Week before opener i will sight-in using them.

I have been shooting my self. Fletching arrows putting out trail cameras. Looked out the back door the other day. There were two pretty nice bucks milling around. It will be here before we know it :D

Archery season comes in here in NC around the 2nd week in Sept. and It'll be here before you know it. I have checked out a couple places for my blind, made some shooting sticks, took down some old stands, tested different fletchings and just doing a lot of different things to get ready for the season.

The last time I bow hunted was 20 years ago and since I got the new Vortex I'm like a kid waiting on Christmas.

Red and Green dots have never tripped my trigger, V-zones are hard to beat for hunting sights.

The Phoenix and Vortex hang ready and get a workout several times a week. Get bored shooting under 40, just too much fun watching the arrows sail toward 50 and even 60; even if I don't intend to shoot at game that far. Have several strings made and broken in, about 5 dozen arrows-including the dedicated hunters, in their own quivers . Yet to shoot the compound this spring. On my agenda for today.
PS Made a convert yesterday, a non-archer. He only shoot rifles (color blind, can't see blood, prefers 'instant kills'), convinced him to pick up the Vortex: perfect 30 yard 10 ring first time. All he said was "WOW!"
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
