How I chose between a thumb hole and traditional stock was to pick a point on the wall, close my eyes and raise the bow, then I opened my eyes to see how close to that point the sight was. After doing that about 20 times I chose the Exocet over the Vortex because it came up to that point more naturally.
Either one will do the job.

I like the idea of a pistol grip, and own a Exocet 175 fitted with a custom thumbhole stock which fits me like a glove. However, even though I'm not a big guy, only 5'6", I find the length of pull of the Excalibur thumbhole stocks too short for me. I used to own a Vortex, and even though I got 2 deer with it, I ended up selling it solely for that reason.

Oddly enough, the fellow I sold it to is almost 6', is barrel-chested, and he claims it fits him just fine.

People come in different shapes and sizes so I suppose one size doesn't fit all.

Thanks for the welcomes and advice. I tried out the axiom and a vortex today to see the fit, both fit comfortably. I also have tracked down a special on an Exocet 200 so if it is comfortable for me to use then I will probably go for that bad boy.

Cheers

In response to comfybear: where does one shoot in TO? I have a backyard however I don't think the neighbours would be too impressed with me practicing.
