Pelee Island
I remember someone on here mentioning going to and hunting on Pelee Island. I have visited all the islands on the Ohio side of the border. I am thinking of trying to go to Pelee. I think there is a ferry that goes to Pelee from the Sandusky area. Can someone tell me what Pelee island is like. Are there things there to see and do or is it pretty unsettled. I assume I would need a passport to visit there. It is much of a hassle to go into Canada by way of ferry, if it is possible at all. I sure do see a lot more border patrols going on in Lake Erie since 9/11. I am even afraid to jump off a boat and swim to Middle Island to look for a piece of drift wood to mount a fish on. Thanks

Re: Pelee Island
Yep , TPM provided some good links for Pelee info .
I've been to Pelee Island many times for Pheasant hunts and also with my wife and daughter in the summer .
I can't find the threads with " search " on the Excalibur site , but here are a couple links ( below ) that show some hunt pictures ...
It's an awsome place for bird watching ... check out the museum and the Winery ... be aware they also have lots of snakes , beach flies , and dust roads , but with lake access on pretty well every side of the island , you can move around and find which side is best wind for the day .... they also have a conservation area with trails ... a least one good resturant ... and lots of bed + breakfast opinions .
If you go , I highly recomennd Stone Hill B+B on West Shore Road ( Becky and Hayward Strowbridge )
