Sorry no pics but did take a doe this morning a little after seven. Two months of practice, gone through three strings, over a thousand shots but worth every minute. This was my very first hunt with a crossbow an although it was a doe is a throphy to me. Love those 125 gr. Ragebroad heads. Leroy

Congratulations Leroy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way I see it, it takes as good a shot to kill a doe as a buck. Any deer with archery is a trophy!

bout a 150 lb Doe, my shot was s little back in the woods with a bunch of leaf litter so thank heavens for a dog that can track (thas the story i have to tell later in another post, this dog amazed me)

Sorry about missing that it was the opener there in NC, too.

Looks like you started the season right! :D
Looking forward to reading a few success stories in the days to come.

No deer taken today but plenty seen :) I did have opportunity but while I was pondering Wabi's recent poll was running through my mind :? I have no problems with shooting a this years deer, I just didn't feel like doing so on opening day. Momma stayed too far in the distance for a shot. Then after momma and the twins moved on I had 5, yes 5 spikes come in on me. A couple of which were still in velvet. 40 yards was about as close as they would get and through the trees I didn't want to attempt a shot. It was fun watching them spar a little and chase each other through the trees :D So it was a very promising opening day :P
