Can the sherrif pull some strings and get a search warrant for your suspect? You have clothing to identify him by now. Just a thought.

That's a great idea. I hope that you catch this piece of sh!t.Louvp wrote:Place the camera on the trail that he's probably using to enter,he probably doesnt put the mask on till just before he reaches the site where he's gonna steal the equipment from.
A friend of my was able to rig a video camera up in his barn to film a man and woman steeling stuff from behind his barn. When he showed the video to the local police they recognized the couple right away as regular customers and they were arrested and dealt with accordingly. I hope you have the same luck.
Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

Re: Latest "Thief" Update
ive had stands stolen and a camera . lets us know what type of gps tracking tag you use. ive been waiting for a cheap small gps tracker thats affordable. the technology has gotta be there as well as the demand.
Re: Latest "Thief" Update
The problem with GPS sending units is they have to be read from software the firm that sells them uses, They charge a ridicilous monthly fee plus a large set up fee. They work off cell towers so if the area has no cell phone signal they don't transmit. Naturally where I would need to put it there is no cell coverage. For a unit small enough to conceal in a camera the battery life is only 48hrs, which is another major draw back.
There are other units but they are cost prohibitive. You would think the technology has advanced enough to make them affordable but not in the mini size and none that have extended battery life
So it's back to square one. Going to put up several more Sheriff department cameras and try to get pictures where he doesn't have his mask on.

Scum of the earth. How cheeky.gerald strine wrote:Set a Bear trap for em
Yeah..... a few bear traps below the gamecam would work well. Then just look for the guy with "cruches" around town .

1 camera body
1 12 gram CO2 cartridge, valve, and electric actuator (trigger) from old paintball gun
1 piece of 1" waxed cardboard tube filled with vegetable based bright pink dye (non toxic)
1 mercury switch salvaged from a cheap thermostat.
Just sayin'....a pink thief is easy to find

If you can't set a good example, at least serve as a horrible warning.

Re: Latest "Thief" Update
Many years ago, there was a temple in Japan that had a small dome covered in gold leaf. Someone started stealing the gold leaf from the dome. The monks tried to come up with a way to catch the guy. They ended up gathering poison ivy and cooked it down to to get the oil that causes irritation...it's called urushioil. They covered the dome with the concentrated oil and within a few days caught the perp, who by then was in a bad way. Gary
Re: Latest "Thief" Update
Sounds like you need to put some bear traps around your cameras
Exomax, Equinox, Matrix 380 and now a Scorpyd Aculeus
Re: Latest "Thief" Update
I like the poison ivy remedy . Even if ya can put him in jail you still win
