Gift Exchange

God gave to each of us gifts
to thee He gave sure silence
bodies both lithe and swift
noses that scent far distance
eyes that capture movement
ears which detect subtle sound
camouflage beyond improvement
hooves that fly over the ground

To me He gave an inner desire
a hunger which burns within
each Fall a soul-stoked fire
kindled by the Hunt to begin
I am nowhere as gifted as thee
I can't travel near as a wood-wise
but I know where I need to be
and lie in wait with sharp surprise

Sometimes you see me hidden
flashing white flag you dart away
other times by my bolt are bitten
as I bid you with me forever stay
but all times we share a kinship
we two who are blessed by He
perhaps it's not a true friendship
but more than PETA will ever be!

So, are you wanting to start a Christmas gift exchange? We draw names and everyone sends a gift and receives a gift. Have done it on other forums and it's pretty much fun. Or, was that just ramblings from our poet-laureate? Gary

Every year we do a Xmas exchange on the forum I forget who organizes it but it is well accepted. Hopefully the organizer will do it again this year!

Another well written verse

I did the Christmas Exchange the first year and Silver was kind enough to take it over last year because I was too busy to put all the names together. But I planned on doing things again this year. I will be putting up the post in a couple weeks with all the rules of the exchange and the sign up requirements and I will put the names together early in November. Please no joining based on this thread, it gets too confusing to organize.
