Re: Couple missed shots ... then scored twice !
Congrats on the deer and the nice tom! Great way to recover from the frustration of the bumped scope misses.
We were overdue for one of your posts, Rick! Your photos don't just honor your quarry, but your whole hunt.
Looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks all … It was a fun week for sure.
I like to show the pluses and minuses of the hunts because as all of you know > not every hunt ends with a successful shot !
The older I get , the more I just enjoy getting out …
Vern A. , aka “ Graylag “ , told me a funny story about a recent hunt he had with Keith E. aka Isis .
Keith was in one location taking pictures of the deer that came out and Vern was on stand watching thru the scope of his Exocet 200 as deer fed within 25 yards of his set up .
They enjoyed the time out ( full knowing a deer could have been taken ) , but now that Vern is 70 + , he drew satisfaction , knowing that his set up was still good and his hunt was a success … Keith had fun taking pictures and neither Vern or Keith was in the mood to gut a drag a deer that night ….
We have another older friend in the group that is dealing with a long drawn out battle with Cancer . Vern was thinking , if he left the deer that night , he could bring Ed back later , giving him a chance to take another crossbow deer , while he is still able .
A perfect example of “ You don’t have kill something to deem a hunt successful ! “
Friends sharing time in the field was enough for them that night !
Take care all …. Enjoy your time in the field !
