I got the opportunity to go hunting this afternoon and had planned on just trying to kill a doe to help fill the freezer. I had this lil 5pt buck come out and get almost broadside at 30 yards and I drilled him. I thought he was one of my does at first but to my surprise I was able to kill my first buck of the year. It was a clean pass through double lung shot that only let him travel about 30 yards. He's not big but I know he will be good!! Some would have let him walk but the neighbor already told me he had his eyes on him and would shoot him when rifle season opens since he doesn't bow hunt. I say better me than him!! I tried to load pics but no luck. Sorry.

Good job. Only allowed one buck a year here in Ohio. A few years ago I shot what I thought was a year and a half old Doe. When I got out of the stand and walked over to it. It was a 5in. Spike.Anything over 3 1/2 inches has to b checked in as a buck. Lucky for me ....I guess...never had a nice buck close enough for a shot the rest of the season. Also broke my new exomax in last week. Congrats
