I am using Excalibur Fire Bolts with a 90 grain brass insert and Luminock (455 Grain total) I prefer heavy arrows.Leaf wrote:To those of you who are using the X-Act broadheads, are you using a heavier insert with these?

Never argue with an idiot; they will only bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience!

Stock firebolt and x-acts. No inserts. Very pleased.
Re: The Excal X-Act Broadhead
I shoot a Phoenix X-Bow and shot a doe here on opening day with stock 20" Firebolts and the 100 grain X-Act mechanical broadheads. Shot the doe at 20 yards, the arrow passed right through and the doe only ran another 20 yards, fell and never got up!
The cuts from the X-act were as advertised with a great exit wound. Also the broadhead is still reuseable perhaps because I didn't hit a bone or rock after the pass-through.
I practice with 100 grain field tips and the X-acts were billed as shooting the same as field-tips as far as point of impact and they were right!
Now I'm hunting Ontario and am still using the X-act broadheads.
Tried to post a pic but apparently the board quota was reached for posting a pic.
