What a morning!

Post by goosesmasher »

I got out again this morning to try and fill my last remaining doe tag.I had some trail cam pics of some doe's coming to a stand site I had set up so I was hopeful they would return this morning. They did not disappoint! I bumped a deer on the way in but I figured I should see more.At first light I had a doe with twin fawns come walking in but I decided not to shoot. A few minutes later another doe with twin fawns stepped out of the bush and headed across the field.I thought this was great! Not five minutes later two more fawns popped out and another big doe and walked right over in front of me.Then two more big does came out and headed over. They didn't have any fawns with them so I decided that I would take one if I could. They were lined up perfectly between me and my camera at about 15 yards when I shot the biggest doe in the group! Off she went but the other deer weren't spooked so I say tight as not to spook them in case I came back with someone else before the season closes.Another doe came out into the field and I could see deer all over the place! Twenty minutes later I see movement up the field and here comes this nice big ten pointer! He stayed out about a hundred yards but thats ok,he'll be a real nice one next year! I ended up seeing 19 different deer this morning! It was awesome!I'm hoping that the camera got some pics this morning, the card keeps saying card error on it.If I can get it to work I may have gotten a pic of me shooting the deer!

Dad gum, that's a big doe. They usually don't get that big in the South. I see lots of burger, chilli, spaghetti sauce, meat loaf, country fried steak, and other goodies on your table. Nice job!!!

Congrats on your deer. Like the other guys , said it is a big one! :D :D I usually don't see much this late in the season, so i do my best to fill early. Besides I dont't like the cold that much anymore. :x

Thanks for the motivation to give it one last try! That's alot of deer to see this late in the year. Congratulations and I admire your patience.

Congrats on your big doe and your patience, maybe the Ten pointer will be bigger next year and offer you a shot. The majority of our deer after a 5 week gun season are just about scared to death and the majority of trail cam pictures are all at night. Happy New Year
