I had a pack of dogs come to me on my morning hunt that was ruined by other dogs about half hr earlier. Big black dog run up on me real close i had Miss Vixen shouldered, waiting to see how it would go down. I hollered real loud he stopped bared his fangs n growled & a catahoula cur stared snarlin & 4 others were barkin at me. I just kept hollerin & went towards them head on & they backed up & turned & started running off. Friends i have had that same stuff happen over in Tn. Thats it fer my deer hunting, i will tote my pump shotgun every time i leave the cabin loaded wid Buckshot couple pocket full!
my one son lived in tn. for a couple years and said that was a big problem down there.he said a pack of dogs came upon him while deer hunting and growled at him they had been chasing deer. he said he always carried buckshot with him and put a few down.
Had a cousin in one of my stands this year he had two very big dogs that would not let him get out of the stand, he ask me if he could shoot them i told him no but that may change if they come back.

one bite and they would die of food poisoning
I just funnin ya man that had to be a scary thing for sure..
a few years back i was sitting on a big boulder wheni heard a noise..turned around and a coyote was sneaking up to me.he was 20ft away and another was behind him maybe 30 ft away..i think they just didnt know what i was till i moved ..they got out of there pretty fast but it rattled me up ..i went home
That's called a 9.9 on the pucker scale.....when it releases, it goes to less than zero!!!! That's also why you should carry an extra pair of BVD's in your pack. A friend of mine runs a hog hunting business here in Tennessee, he and all guides carry a big ole hog leg on their hip. He uses a 44 mag. others have a 357 mag and one mean ole mountain dude has a S&W 500. There ain't nothing meaner than a wounded hog. As for pack dogs, I a'int wating to see if they are just visiting or have made dinner plans.

I really like that one !
I would have feed the 1st one that snarled a broadhead . Have had several dogs snarl at me over the years ; none of them did it a 2nd time
A 12 gauge loaded with # 4 buckshot will put some serious hurt on the wild dogs . I use to handload this round ,a 2 3/4 inch shell holds 24 pellets . 30 inch barrel full choke is the bang flop solution . Gun goes bang , problem goes flop !
Killing them off would be a good thing , they will only get braver then someone will get hurt .
Glad to hear your ok
Year's ago i had a pack of cur dogs trail my scent all the way to the tree i had climbed. When i yelled at them they proceeded to bark & show teeth at me
