Starting to shape the fore end to the broadhead. Narrowed up the front which also lightens up the front end which is a win win.

Maybe a better look this way.

I am thinking about putting chip marks in the broadhead like the old stone broadheads. LOVE doing this. I am in seventh heaven. I never know where it will take me. :D

Hope it is'nt to much Tara.

That looks so cool :D Now I have a very original Aging stock in the making. I cant wait to start practicing with it. This year I will have a fancy stock on my new Vixen and CORN!!! Yes corn is a good thing for me so the deer travel through the woods I hunt, small woods and there are more deer on a corn year
To be a vegetarian is to listen to the live carrot gradually screaming as it drowns in a pot of boiling water …. Which is more ethical to you ??

Making the grooves for the finger grip. Got to watch out for the rail channel. Be aware of it or be IN it.

Image

If you get the feel of the first finger right the rest will follow.

My pleasure Vix. Glad your enjoying the build along. I hope my explaining makes sense to everyone. Its hard to type to whats going on. Thank goodness for pics. I know the cuts look crude now but I am roughing the shape to where I like it. When I get to sanding it down then it will smoothin out. :D

Looking good! Doing that grip would scare me. Mike, you are fearless when it comes to wood. Carry on... 8) Gary

Got that first finger groove feeling good.
Image

It still feels a little fat but its hard to tell without starting the other fingers which is next.

Image

Got to check it with heavy winter gloves on and I need to take more out of the trigger hole and widen the groove a little.

We could get into hand size BUT WE WILL NOT. Thats getting to critical.
