MNR Online Renewal

Post by bugs »

I had to renew my outdoors card and get my small game and fishing license so I decided to try the online way. I wanted to get the money out of my hands ASAP before I had to use it on something else  It was a bit of a pain the first time but ended up being painless in the end. Well my card came today which was only 13 days after I ordered it. I was quite impressed :D It seems all of the bugs are worked out now and it makes life easier when you cant get into a place to get one Mon-Fri. So I got my deer tag and turkey license that way today.

As for the fees .....Holly Heck Batman they went up :( I remind myself .... Conservation and the turkeys are here with help of those fees :(

Wow! Thirteen days is quick for sure. I did mine online last November and the card didn't get to me until early January. Doing it online was pretty easy to do though. :)

How much were the fees Bugs? Curious to know how they compare to us here in Quebec.

Here is a .pdf of the 2011 fees (scroll down to the bottom to see some of the "combo" prices).

That's weird that they send you all a card afterwards. :? KY has something similar, but once you choose what you want and pay, they give you a number. That number IS your license/tag. You keep it with you while hunting/fishing/trapping. If you're ever checked, the officer can call in and check the number to be certain you've got everything you say you do.

Just seems more trouble than they really have to do. :?
Licenses and permits purchased on this site are issued in the form of a printable license image. Customers will not receive a paper license or permit in the mail. An authorization number will also be issued for customers without access to a printer and will serve in lieu of a printed license. Any customer using an authorization number must carry a photo ID while performing the act authorized by the license or permit. You will need a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover card to make a purchase.
I know the F&W agencies in the US communicate with the ones up in Canada (or at least I know the Hunter Education divisions do anyway). Seems this would come up somewhere along the way.

At least the cards are plactic and dont get ruined :D

Thanks for posting the link to the fees. It seemed expensive at the start but once I got the card, conservation fishing license, deer tag, small game license and turkey license I think it was round $120, I knew I could but a 25 lb turkey for the same price but I want to hear the gobble

We have an Outdoor card here in Ontario that basically just proves that you have passed the hunter safety course and can buy hunting licenses. It's good for three years and then needs to be renewed again. The licenses are separate and purchased after getting the outdoors card.
