You shouldn't have to lift the spring - the arrow should just slide under it without much resistance.
I've had to bend mine up again after accidentally cocking with the rope over it - just give it a little pressure up to bend a bit at a time. It's not really tough - even I can do it!![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: munch mount problem
You'll have to remove your scope mount to bend it up. You want to have at least 1/3 of the thickness of an arrow between the arrow retainer and the deck. But make sure you have more curl to the tip of the retainer so that when you cock the bow the string doesn't ride over the retainer again. If you remove the arm make sure you take note of the lengths of the screws. Loctite the screws but just enough to wet the threads. Failure to do both of the latter will render your trigger inoperative. Check that you can slide the arrow in before installing the scope mount.
Do your bending where the arm departs from the trigger unit assuming the arm isn't kinked from pulling the rope over it.

Locktite Thread Lock is your friend (used sparingly of course).
Anytime I put any screws in that I don't want to loosen up, I put a dab of Locktite on it.

Re: munch mount problem
Thanks to everyone who helped. I have the vortex and munch mount problem solved now. It was a simple solution; just pulled off the scope and mount. This allowed me to hold down the top of the retainer spring still attached to the scope mount bracket and pull up on the retainer spring until I have about 1/16 to 1/8" of clearance above the deck. That solved the problem completely. remounted the scope with locktite blue and away we go! Thanks again all. BB
ps: will keep a close eye on the retainer inthe future as it bends awfully easily.

Re: munch mount problem
This is how I load my arrow too. Sounds like you may need to curl the front of the retainer spring up a little too as others have mentioned. It's definately a little "trickier" to load the arrow with the munch mount in place but you get a feel for it after awhile and it's no big deal.VixChix wrote:I load mine differently - I push the tip of arrow through the mount from the scope side of the mount, then lower the shaft of the bolt into the rail and slide it backward to seat against the string. Easy peasey.

Just make sure you have more curl on the tip. That lack of curl is why the string rides over the retainer when you cock the bow.bellasboss wrote:Thanks to everyone who helped.
