Hi folks I was just wondering what broadheads you all use for hunting turkey? This is my first kick at the cat (Turkey LOL) as far as hunting them.
Thanks for any input.

I suggest a large cut expandable for Mr. Tom. Take and look at Rage or Trophy Ridge and check out their line up when you have a chance.
Good luck with your first hunt!

I like the Spitfire Gobbler Getter....Haven't let me down and have a large cut. I also have used the Turkey Tomahawk which left a devastating wound.
If the thrill of the hunt is lost, then I have lost.

I have lost birds from fixed blades, the energy from the expandables seems to stop them.

Re: What broadheads are best for turkey?
My short answer would be to use what you are confident in, and what shoots well from your bow.
I use the same ones that I use for deer. I have so much time and money invested to make sure they shoot straight I would hate to start over again with something new.
I use a standard SlickTrick, but because of the body mass of a turkey and fear of losing my kinetic energy to the earth I also apply a Zwickey Grappler to the mix. It has very little impact on my POI, so I can just add a grappler to my tried and true deer set up and go Chase gobblers with the same confidence.
What ever you choose, good luck this season!

Dave that looks like it would add some shock to a bird or any small game!!Pydpiper wrote:My short answer would be to use what you are confident in, and what shoots well from your bow.
