passed hunter education

Post by wabi »

Signed my son up for the hunter education course, then decided I'd take it, too.
Had our final exams today, and I couldn't let him show me up, but he made it tough.
He scored 96, but I edged him out with a score of 100 (a total of 100 questions on the test). That 50 years edge in experience paid off again.

Nice going guys :D
To be a vegetarian is to listen to the live carrot gradually screaming as it drowns in a pot of boiling water …. Which is more ethical to you ??

Been there and done that with my son. Now admit that while your son slept you stayed up all night studying the answers cause you knew he was going to beat you.

Congrats to you both wabi. Way to show the boy how it's done too. :)

Nice of you to do it with your boy.

Signed up my father without telling him for the turkey coarse. At the end of the day I had my exam done and looked at my dad and he was on question 3. I said here give it to me, i did his exam in about 15 seconds. I handed it back and said lets hand them in. Got perfect on my exam and one wrong on my Dads. He complained all the way home that I made him look like a fool getting one wrong. Finally had to tell him he got his licence so shutup. Likely not the thing to say but after 8 hours in a snoozer of a coarse I was not in happy mood. Guess I will be a complainer when I get 78 years young also. LOL

Not really a difficult test.

Common sense on most of the choices. Several multiple choice, & true/false, with a few matching the names to the pictures (eg.- picture of a shotgun and you name the stock, trigger guard, muzzle, etc.)

Even a couple crossbow questions! :D

Congratulations to both of you!! Well done!!

A decade ago I took the course with my son also, as a refresher. The most tricky question on the test was:

-If you shoot a bullet straight up, and it goes a mile high and back down, how far has it gone?

a) 1 mile
b) 2 miles
c) 0 miles
d) none of the above

Well, I put down a) 1 mile, but the right answer was b)2 miles. It still bugs me I got it wrong. Stupid question.

Congrats to you and your son on passing

Looks like your deer population could take
an extra hit or two this year.

Congrats to you both. I cannot wait until my grandson is old enough to take his courses. I will be right there along with him all the way. Thanks for sharing wabi.
