I know a few in my life that are diabetic.
All are able to live productive lives whether type 1 or 2.
Stay strong as it looks like you have it under control.
Take care.

PS: Research is closing in on a better system of insulin delivery thus eliminating needle use.

Firstly, I know a few people with diabetes, and with the proper diet, exercise and insulin they are all leading good productive lives, and I am sure since you have had it since you were a child you are a pro at monitoring your blood glucose. It takes a brave kid to jab himself with a needle, so PROPS to you !!

Secondly, let me say its just Great to see someone your age participating in this forum. :) :)

keep your fingers crossed for a new fix. even in the few years you have had it they have made improvements on treatment.i was type 2 and for many years and to the point of having to go on the needle.that thought made me make a big change to loose weight .i dislike needles that much. i was lucky i had a choice hope you will soon .

I see you give yourself shots in the leg...it hurts to bad for me so i put them in my belly. Im type 2 , got that way sitting around on a heart transplant list and taking other meds to keep me ticking.

What you have to deal with I'm glad I don't.
You should be commended for how you fight this disease.
You can be sure we all wish you the best in this fight.

Don't get too bent out of shape about what is posted about hunting turkeys or deer or whatever. We are all passionate about the outdoors and for me about hunting and crossbows.

If you want to do a fund raiser for the diabetes foundation then go for it.
Just because we can't agree on one subject does not mean we can't agree on everything.
This community will back a good cause!

Keep up the good work and take care of yourself. My step-dad went from pills to insulin then on dialysis, heart trouble, near blind, teeth pulled and memory problems. He is 65 and this could have all been prevented if he cared about what he ate and getting exercise. I am not trying to scare you but stay active like you are and eat as you should so you can stay healthy. Are there chances of your diabetes going away? I know a gal who has juvenille but it went away as she got older.
To be a vegetarian is to listen to the live carrot gradually screaming as it drowns in a pot of boiling water …. Which is more ethical to you ??
