Loctite on S5 System?

Post by Max-4 »

I installed the S5 system on my 2011 Exocet 200 and tightened the sqrews down pretty tight. After I did this I read in the card that its a good idea to put a few drops of loctite on the sqrews. I did not do this, is it going to matter? Has anybody installed their S5 system with no loctite, is it shooting loose?

Don't stress on it mate , just keep an eye on it. Its a good habit to spend a minute every now and then to check there's no movement in the other stuff too like the scope, limbs, disapator bars, etc.

Generally, I only Loctite critical screws, like the ones holding the trigger assembly to the frame, the scope mount to the trigger assembly, scope rings, etc. Anything else I just snug down pretty good and check every so often.

Big58, y'all can skip the screws holding the ring halves together, never have had one shoot loose.

I have on a rifle. Since then, it's just one of the common things I do any time I deal with any kind of optics. I'd rather do it and know in my mind that it won't go anywhere than not do it. Friggin' psychological stuff can play havoc with you!

I wouldn't worry about it but if you decide to use Loctite remember to use the blue removable stuff...not the red permanent stuff.

On my excal, I thread lock all the hardware.
