some 50yd arrow test today

Post by masboy »

I,m down to 8 of my 2114s that I shoot and they been thru a lot .all my sorted out best shooting ones I lost or broke on deer this year. these are all my rejects for one reason or another but all I have so picking out the ones that shoot ok with close to same poi. it was a light wind but shot anyway and at 50yds from a good bench and sandbags I shot each arrow three times and two arrows shot 1/2 inch group and 2 arrows shot 3/4 inch group and one arrow shot 1 inch group and two shot 1-1/8 inch group and one shot 1-1/2 inch group. so half of these old arrows shot 3/4 inch and under. I guess I,ll be making a new batch soon so I can pick out the best shooting ones with the same poi for my target shooting and be smart enough to not shoot all my best arrows at deer this year. I know one thing on a calm day you can poke holes with these excaliburs with the right arrows( these bows are shooters!!!!)

I've learned at 40-50 yards you need some kind of backstop, because if you miss the target with the speed these arrows are traveling, you can kiss them good-bye. I've got 2 arrows on the other side of the creek next to my house in some of the thickest stuff God has ever created...I'll never see them again. Lesson learned
