Optimizer scope mount

Post by Movingmd »

I was this product online. I like the concept. Wondering if anyone shoots with one, is there anything you don't like about it? And can you do a review?

I shoot one and love it for my target shooting! only thing it makes the scope set high and some scopes don,t have enough adjustment to get a 20 yard sight in and have to shim the rings. also had to build up my cheek piece . works great and very precise.one of the best things I put on my bow!

I know several people who shoot one.

I recently added one to my Vixen and I love it - especially for 3D. It's so nice to shoot crosshairs instead of trying to approximate the distances between the points of the triangles.

As for the additional height - I did need longer posts for my Munch mount. I also found that I had to "anchor" my stock to my jaw instead of my cheek to sight through the scope. I hope to add a cheekpiece to the stock this week and expect that will help the fit.

What did you do to increase the height of the munch mount? I don't have the optimizer but the similar Parker"red hot" scope and had to take the mount off as it was to low for me to see under it. I was going to put some rubber washers under it to shim it up but was worried about making it too tall. I love the single cross hair and the ability to actually use the magnification of the scope properly. I just need to remember to range the deer properly and spin the dial before shooting.

for my hunting with it I will keep it on the 20 yd setting and use the Kentucky wind and elevation system for most of my deer hunting but may try it out on a field shot if I have time to range and enough light to dial it on .

Terry/Munch made up some extra tall posts to replace the regular ones. Get in touch with him.

The longer Munch mount posts enable the mount to clear the scope but apparently not the under carriage of a mini-van. :(
