Sitting waiting for morning

Post by kd8jgu »

Had large doe at 25 yards. Scope on her right in the blood factory.
Had a dumb a** come stombing thru whe pulled trigger.
Hit last rib left side bolt appears to be lodged in left hip.
He then went running after dear.
Shot deer at 6:20pm last seen at 6:36pm sat where I know she is laying.
Going nuts waiting for 7:36am sunrise to find her.
May my aim be true and my arrow fly straight

Did you say the guy went after the deer after you shot it?

definitely best to leave em sit if you dont have the best shot placement. I learned that one the hard way.

I lost my first xbow deer a few weeks ago. Bad shot placement and I didnt wait long enough. Not trying to be discouraging but it happens to us all now and again.

Good luck in the am!!

The ending is clear.
It has a good and bad side.
Bad side after spending 3hrs finding blood trail and going thru pryers and thicketts. Came to the backside of a farm. Posted no hunting.
Uncocked Ibex and secured it to a tree. Walked towards house to hear someone in the barn yell. It was the farmer as we talked I told him about the deer. He then informs me he has several deer around his grain trucks in the morning and this morning there was a dead deer laying when he came out.
Good side is he already skind and cut the deer up. He did give me some back strap and some sweet corn from his crop.
He then offered me the chance to hunt his property the rest of the yr.

Always pays to follow through.
Looks like a double reward.
You still have your tag, some venison and corn, and a new hunting opportunity.
Good luck.
