Cameron text me and says he has 26 turkeys in front of him said they were there for 15 or 20 min; 30 yards and closer.
Getting to the end of shooting light and Lauren taps me and grabs the bow, another buck 50 yards behind us. I told her to relax and wait, as he was getting closer. The buck kept coming but there was to much junk in the way, gets to 20 yards. stops, and makes a scrape. "Well he's 20yards and there is to much junk there, when he gets done he needs to take about 3 steps and you will have a nice broad side shot shot him then. Lauren don't shoot bad angle wait," he kept walking then turn a little bit .
I've always told my children it's not where the arrow goes in; shoot so the arrow comes out behind the shoulder on the other side.
So he turned just a bit and soon he would be behind the bunker and out of shot. Shoot now 15 yards away . The buck did the big old kick and charged right at us. He was close enough to us, that she could have touched it as it went by. went an other 20 yards and that was it. The shot took out both lungs and the heart.
Cameron texts say he has a small doe in front of him but to small that he did not want to shoot it. Shooting light is gone now, he gets out of the bunker and 2 deer blow at him and he sees tails going back out into the bean field. Cameron shot a young buck just like this the first day of season but the camera batteries were dead so no pics of him and his buck .
