Danny Miller ?

Post by Old-New-Guy »

I think I've figured out what I want. I checked the internet so I feel what prices are good or at least fair for both parties. I owned a brick & mortar Bicycle Shop for over 25 years. So I think I understand retail. I like to do business with folks that give info & service. That may not be the very cheapest price ... you may not get a Range Finder for "free" :() when you order . But you get solid advice and they may ask you a question about what you want to do you hadn't thought about. That comes from experience and knowing a product line.

As I get it Danny's not into internet. I figured out from his area code .. he's in Ohio. That's EST ... From you guy's who've dealt with him ... what's the better time to call & does he take credit cards ... paypal or what ?

Thanks ...

One thing that I think/hope was good on Danny's part he listened to me, told him I was a total newbie , needed everything , I gave my size info , 5'6" and my gimpyness .. A left shoulder that got more or less crushed in a motorcycle wreak. So I can't raise my left arm much above my head. No more hanging sheet rock !! I'd say thank God for that if I wasn't gimpped ...

So he got the short version of my life  I told him I wanted a Phoenix .. Real quick he said I think you'd like/be better with a Vixen stock and I'll switch everything from the Phoenix .The Vixen stock is a bit shorter. But everything will match up fine. Sounded good to me .. but what do I know ...nada really.

I had a long list of items I thought I'd needed. He cut my list down and explained why he felt I wouldn't need them. That's NOT the way most retailers do things. It's usually "bump ups & add on's ".

At my Bicycle shop we did bumps ups and add on's ... but it was hopefully to help the new guy have a good time and enjoy his new Bike. "If you're really gonna go off road ... you might think about thorn resident tubes, it sucks to push your bike. And if you plan to ride a lot in the rough you might want a spare tube and pump. You can patch the tube at home later. If you plan on riding for several hours you do need a water bottle & cage too " So it was never a profit thing ... those items where cheap.

I felt he treated me like he'd like to be treated . Can't ask for more in my eyes..

I'm hoping to get some target , learning time this weekend. Will post later about things.

Danny doesnt have a website because he WANTS to do the personal interaction thing just like he did with you.Its so he can be a better dealer rather than selling more merchandise. A strange business approach to most these days but a pleasure to do business with. NOBODY else would have swapped stocks for you to fit your size and limits. You have just been "Millerized". Congrats on the new bow and and have fun, be safe and keep yer thumbs down.
