Hello everyone, it's been a while, no longer in the East, now living in Saskatchewan. The phoenix finally put one down, thought I would share my story and pictures here with you guys.
It all started in early April, when I put the trail cameras out, started looking for a good one to hit. I first spoted this guy in the middle of July, first got him on camera in velvet and thought, "oh he's a good one". Couple months went by and I never seen him anymore.
So come the start of the season, I put together my hit list, which most of you might have already seen posted here. I was going after number 2 because I hadn't seen number one in months. On September 16th, I actually shot at number 2, him jumping the string and me shoting a little high, resulted in a complete miss, the arrow still grazzed his back, but all was good, I have it all on video, so no harm done there. Shortly after I seen number one show up on the cameras again. A few days go by and number 4 and 2 showing up in front of my blind, I let them walk, even thought I was still mad for missing number 2, 4 days later it all came to an end on October 15th at 5:26 pm, the G3 buck was down. 20 yard shot with Excaliber Phoenix, took out both lungs and sliced the heart, 60-70 yards later it was my hands. A quick gross score of 160, around 156 with deductions. He's a 5x5 with a sticker of the G2 on the right side.
