New to crossbows

Post by Grunt031x »

Well purchased my first crossbow 3 weeks ago. I bought the the vortex with the Vari Zone Lightstuff package. It also came with the deluxe padded case. I also added the suppressors and a fletch string. Setup was a breeze. Had it sited in in 3 arrows had to stop shooting in the same spot and am down one arrow now. So I bought a 6 pack from BP. Yet to take any game with it. These are so accurate it blows my mind. I've put about 200 arrows down range already. Looking forward to taking my first buck with it. Hopefully I can get it done before the end of the season. Maybe tomorrow will be my lucky day.

Welcome to the forum!

You'll find a great bunch folks willing to help with just about anything you'll need.

I have to agree with you, these Xbows a deadly accurate. I have no trouble hitting a 4" target at 50 yrds free standing with my Phoenix, so I can just imagine how a Vortex will perform.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Vortex. If you haven't already I would buy a back up string so when you wear your serving out you can just switch them out until you get your serving fixed. I shot my Vortex so much the first couple of weeks I wore my serving out. The best thing I've found so far to quieten it down a little is catwhiskers served into the string. Good Luck shooting and hunting.

Welcome to the Excalibur Family and the forum. All the best as you learn your crossbow. Feel free to ask any question here. I picked up my first crossbow a few months back (an Ibex model) and this forum has been great in helping me out and keeping me from making newbie mistakes. Just ask. :D Congratulations on your new crossbow.
