Paint over pink camo

Post by Lucky-Dog »

I may have found a good deal on a pink vixen. I know I could paint the stock but I was wanting to know if I can paint the limbs or would the flex of the limbs eventually crack the paint ?

I wouldn't worry about painting over that crossbow if I were you. If it is a good buy , get it and trade or sell it.

I have painted a stock and limbs before and had no issue with the paint cracking on the limbs. I have had the paint chip from rough handling though. Nothing a quick touch-up cant fix!

just be sure to use a type of degreaser on it and rough up the factory finish a bit. a scotch pad works well.

Years ago excal used to paint their own camo on the bows!

About a year ago I saw one of Boo's bows that he had painted the limbs on. I would have figured that the paint wouldnt stay but Boo said that they had proven to be pretty durable. He said to use "self etching " primer and have a go at it. I painted mine black this past year and have hunted with it all year and they are very durable. Thanks Boo for the tip.But I guess the answer is yes you can paint your limbs and have a very satisfactory job.I'm sure tickled with mine.

I would have to agree with Raymond. Those Pink camo bows are a bit rare and in great demand so you could buy the bow and trade the bow or the limbs and stock for another color.
