Final Curtain in Ontario

Post by Carnivorous »

Well tomorrow is it for us in Southern Ontario as far as Deer season goes.

I will be out tomorrow for a buck hunt with 2 friends in the deep snow & cold. Can't think of a better place to be.

Will be a nice way to close out a great 2012 season.

Cheers & happy New Year to all!

No tracks and no deer on the 2 little lots I can hunt so I don't think I'll head out again. :(

I will be out of town tomorrow so no hunt for me. It's to bad as there are around 10-12 doe's and 3 bucks that seem to have decided to show up in the last fews days. Oh well there well always be next year and by then they will have grown alittle bigger.

I had December 28th as my last day but of course my buddies dragged me out for an extra couple days out at their spot but no luck. I had a great season getting a once in a lifetime buck and a doe so I must say Season #2 in the books was a good one. Can't wait to get back out next season and do it all over again.

Sat tonight for a few hours and froze my tail feathers off!
I'll be out again tomorrow night for one last effort. I'm in this right down to the last sunset. :)

Patti and I tried too but the last tag ends in Tag Soup. The snow and cold wasn't that bad

Well just got home from our morning hunt. I had 2 nice bucks. One was a tall 8 & the other a basket 6 out @ 68 yards in the open field. No amount of calling would bring them in to range. I consider that a great hunt when I see 2 nice deer like that.

I wanted to stay all day but the other 2 hunters I was with had plans. Imagine that on new years day.. :)

2012 was my best seaon ever & this was a nice way to end the Season.

Cheers

Ended the season with an uneventful but peaceful, relaxing & snowy sit on the afternoon of the 30th. Glad we finally got some snow here; it always feels most like hunting to me when everything is covered in white.
