Now I Did It!

Post by taz3 »

My Dad has been rifle hunting for ever and since my wife has boughten my crossbow, he got the bug to get one too. Being a bit older, he didn't want anything too powerful or pricey, so he was debating an Axiom. I began checking here for something used this side of the border and they seemed to sell as quick as they were being posted. My wife was talking to the gentleman who told her about Excalibur for me, he mentioned he had an older Exocet he'd sell to my Dad, cheap. So my Dad got a smoking deal on a 1999 Exocet, 175# model, it's in excellent shape, hardly any wear at all, plus it came with a soft case and a ton of other extras. I feel like a kid now and I can't wait to go hunting with my Dad!

Nice! I love hunting with my dad during the M/L season. For years he's been eying our Excaliburs. Maybe this is the year he will make it happen.

I was debating selling my Phoenix to him and buying Matrix :D , but being it's my first Xbow and there is a signifacant difference between the 2, I want to keep it. I tried to convince him a Matrix would suit him better, especially for early Moose hunting  . He just gave me this funny look when he saw the price and speed of it :? then asked me if I was nuts!

My Dad and I are fairly close in age and I think hunting is the only thing we haven't done together as adults, at least in the way of sports and hobbies.
