Carved tips
Can someone give me the downfalls of carved tips? I can find a few in my price range an wonder why they seem to run a little cheaper. Thx.

String selection.
You can only use Dacron strings with carved tips.
Thats all I got.

They are abit slower than the newer models is only other thing i knowed about
Re: Carved tips
If they get damaged you might have to buy limbs because there are no carved tipped limbs available. Best to ask Excalibur for the warranty status.

Re: Carved tips
My carved tip Exomag is almost 20 years old and I won't part with it. Still shoots and works like it did new. Had a trigger issue and Excalibur repaired it free and even paid the return shipping.

Boo's correct. Excalibur will not replace them without you forking over some dough first. They will give you a better price on mag tipped replacements than you'll find at any bow shop though.

I know of at least one dealer in my area that lists carved tip limbs for sale.Boo wrote:If they get damaged you might have to buy limbs because there are no carved tipped limbs available. Best to ask Excalibur for the warranty status.

That's pretty rare. The dealer might want to put them up on the Trading Post if they want to sell them. If I would want an extra set of limbs if I that was my one and only bow.Ont_Excal wrote:I know of at least one dealer in my area that lists carved tip limbs for sale.Boo wrote:If they get damaged you might have to buy limbs because there are no carved tipped limbs available. Carved tips are elegant and historical. Sure they have limitations, but I along w/ many others regret letting a bow equipped w/ them out of my grasp.
