spacing from fletch to knock

Post by jody5252 »

greetings Excalibur nation! was wondering if there is a "minimum/maximum" amount of space from the rear edge of the vanes to the end of the nock? going to be fletching arrows with a bohning tower jig, would like to hear any advice on using these jigs. will be using 3" fusion vanes, right offset

I am not sure of the maximum but I have been fletching close to minimum at 7/8" for over twenty years for all my Excalibur arrows.

Mine are about 1", much closer and the vanes get into the scope mount too much.

No worries. I have fletched arrows with the fletching over an inch away from the end of the arrow with no negative issues at all.

I trim my scope mount for clearance, the further back your fletching are the quicker your arrow will correct it's flight if needed.
