question about my c-2 crank cocking aid

Post by sbox »

I just got my Excalibur Exocet 200 today from UPS. the guy I bought it from also included an Excalibur c2 crank cocking device. the cross bow and crank cocker look brand new and no damage. but I'm having problems with the c-2 crank cocking device. which really look self explanatory. it hooks on the stock, I then screw the brass pin into the hole on the stock, run 2 hooks over the scope and down each side of the rail and hook them over the bowstring with the hooks facing down. but when I start to crank and the hooks and the bow string move only 3 or 4 inches up the rail, the 2 hooks and the bow string raise and pop up on top of the rail allowing the 2 hooks to come together in the middle of the rail, rather then the hooks staying on the sides of the rail all the way up until it cocks like my rope cocking device does. what am I doing wrong?

nevermind, I just figured it out and feel really stupid. I was not bringing the string back over the scope into the notch. It's been a long day. :)
