to my surprise ...

Post by XcaliburFX »

Earlier last year I bought an Eclipse XT to hunt with, and my son (who was visiting) while helping me sight it in, just fell in love with all the carbon fiber awesomeness and just wanted it so bad that, ... Yup you guessed it, I ended up letting him have it. (pushover lol)

Still needing a crossbow for myself, I went out and got the less expensive Axiom SMF for myself a few months later and finally began my Excalibur journey. Well, long story short my son decided that he likes vertical bows better now, and said since he wasn't going to be using it anymore that he thought I should have it back. :)

So, guess what came in the mail today? ... It kind of felt like Christmas or something lol. :D Am I happy to get it back? You bet'cha!

Now, I just have to decide which one I like the best, the Axiom or the Eclipse. Both are excellent crossbows, but I don't really need two ... Do I? lol

Keep both. Your son might want to shoot with you at some later point or he might want to borrow it from you. Never hurts to have two.

With all the excitement over those new matrix bows, it is definitely a buyer's market right now. If you don't have to sell a bow right now, I would hang onto both of them at least until we get closer to the fall hunting season.

That should give you plenty of time to try both of them out and if they have not "earned their keep", you should be able to get a fair price for the freeloader. I figure the bows don't really eat all that much and it never hurts to have a backup in case your son/buddy wants to shoot or hunt with you.
