Hello from South Texas

Post by chicotrout »

Greetings,

I am new to the world of crossbows but, I just bought myself a Matrix 380 which I get tomorrow...whoop whoop!!! Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and ask if I can continue shooting Ramcat 125's since I am very happy with them on the bow side of the house. Oh, BTW I will be using 18" Diablo arrows. I will be grateful for any guidance.

Happy hunting!!!

Welcome Friend,
Where in South Texas are you located? You should be very pleased with your Matrix 380, is it the Camo or the Black one? I personally cannot see why you cannot continue shooting the Ramcat 125's, but someone else may have a reason why you cannot. I am sure that they will soon answer you. Once again, welcome you are at a good place.

Hello Raymond,

Thanks for the information and I hope you are right. As far as where in South Texas, I guess you can pretty much say North Mexico as I live in Mission, TX which is only a few miles from the border. We have lots of pigs, deer, Nilgai and plenty of exotics like Axis, Fallow and sheep. I'm real lucky to be where I am as we have year around hunting when it comes to the pigs and the exotics.

Happy hunting!!!

Welcome from a fellow Texan (dfw area ) I've hunted on the Chaparral WMA before, its a true game haven. That part of the state is so different from north central Tex. that it was a new experience for me. I think you will love your Excal. They are all great.

Thank you all. I just wanted to say that I received my Matrix 380 Blackout today and I am super impressed! I shot my first bolt from 20 yds and it was dead on but I buried it all the way into a brand new Morrell Yellow Jacket Supreme target... I then proceeded to stack 4 carpet squares in front of the target face which managed to stop my bolts about 3" from the fletching. Needless to say, I'm still wearing a grin on my face.

I smell fresh bacon this weekend...here piggy, piggy, piggy :D
Happy Hunting!!!
