Can someone explain the proper way to install a string?

OK, i have a factory excalibur string,what are the instructions for installing?I was told to twist it CW to adjust it.Is this right?

Flemish string? Just put string on no twisting?
What do you experts do?

You have to go in the direction that will encourage the serving to tighten. Most are made so that while looking at the end of the string you twist counter clock wise to shorten the string and raise the brace height.
Set your brace height much higher than your target brace height so it will settle in faster.

CCW when looking into the end of the string and 1 & 5/8" BH.

This may be silly, but should you alternate which side you add turns to while tightening up a string? Or will it matter in the end?

first . no its not silly . asking is the best way to get understanding..
second. twist from one end. those twist will even out on their own..no need to twist both ends. just be sure to twist as Boo said.
